Q: What is the difference between Peak & Max gains?
A: Peak HP gains are measured at the rpm level where the OEM rated the stock engine's highest horsepower. Max HP gains are measured at the rpm level with the greatest gain over stock. Simply put, Max is the most or widest range between stock and Superchips. Peak is the gain at the vehicle's highest rating.
Q: Is it easy to install?
A: Extremely easy. Installation generally takes less than 10 minutes and requires no automotive knowledge or mechanical ability whatsoever. Also, the Superchips tune can easily be removed and the stock program will be put back in place.
Q: Will it void my warranty?
A: No. It is illegal for a dealership to void your warranty based solely on the fact that you have installed an aftermarket product. For information regarding denial of warranty coverage, go to the SEMA website, www.sema.org
Q: Will the tuner damage my transmission?
A: No, and in most cases, the operation of the transmission is improved.
Q: Will a Superchips Tuner improve the fuel mileage?
A: Our programs are designed around increased performance with improved drivability, and in many cases, the fuel economy does improve.
Q: Can a Superchips Tuner override the factory speed limiter?
A: In most cases this option is available. Please check the products page for your vehicle's specific list of options.
Q: Do you need to run higher octane fuel?
A: While some Superchips products give you the choice of running 87 or 91-93 octane fuel, most vehicle's will require the use of 91-93 octane fuel to achieve the most increase in horsepower and torque.
Q: Are all of the rpm points programmed?
A: Yes, Superchips tunes at all throttle positions, from idle to wide open throttle.
Q: Can I stack a Superchips program with another programmer or tuner?
A: No, it is not recommended to mix or stack a Superchips calibration with another performance chip, module or programmer. Superchips will not warrant or be liable for any damage caused by the stacking of a Superchips product on top of another performance enhancing chip or programmer.
